The ReLaunch Of Jay’s Mastermind Is Official!

I’m so excited! – The energy rush I feel is either because of the extreme amounts of caffeine I just consumed, or the excitement that comes knowing that you are about to rock the world!

Maybe both – :-)

So why did I do it?

Why did I decide to take down Jay’s Mastermind, and leave blogging all together – and now why have I decided to pick it back up?

Is it an extreme case of marketing schizophrenia, or is their method to my madness?

Have I discovered a magical money pool that will make me a gazillion dollars by blogging?

No… lol

I originally shut down Jay’s Mastermind, because I hated doing it. Bottom line.

And nothing is harder than working day to day on something you hate doing.

Now I didn’t hate the blogging aspect of it, or the feedback and even friends I’ve made because of it…

I hated HOW I was blogging, just like I hate how 99% of Internet Marketing bloggers blog.

There wasn’t anything special, or remarkable about the blog or me. It just turned into empty post of what I thought people wanted to hear (or what would be good ‘linkbait’), started writing ‘reviews’ just to make money (regardless of what I really thought about the product), and it started to become more of a chore than a passion.

It was so cliche, and I don’t know if it’s the ex-rocker in me, but anything trendy or cliche makes me want to vomit.

Yes, I wanted to make myself vomit!

I mean how many – “I’ll Show You The Quickest Way To Profit, Even Though I Haven’t Made A Dime, And I’ll Still Work A Full Time Job, But I Read An Ebook On How To Make Money Online, So Now I’m An Expert, And I’m Using A Blog To Tell You So Cause I Can’t Afford Advertising” – blogs do we need?

Now please don’t get me wrong…

If you are new, then that’s great. If you still work a full time job that’s awesome!

Keep going, work your butt off, and you’ll be able to accomplish the life and financial freedom that you dream of.

Just please, please, be yourself. Quit trying to be the ‘guru’, or put yourself up as some ‘expert’.

Be the “I’m a School Teacher That’s Trying To Earn Some Extra Cash Online Blog”…

or the “Hard Working Construction Worker Blogs About His Life” blog, and then become an affiliate to Home Depot or something.

This whole fake it to you make it bull crap is what got me sick of the whole Internet Marketing game.

If you haven’t made any money online then you have no right teaching people how to make money online. (or writing reviews on products just to get some stay-at-home mom’s last $50 so you can make and affiliate sale) It’s lying, and we all know where liars go…

If you’re going to blog then be yourself, be passionate, and you’ll make some cash.

I personally just wanted to get away from the whole “I’ll show you the fastest way to make money online” crap.

When Justin and Chaunna Brooke announced I won their 30 day apprentice challenge on June 23, 2009.

I got so overwhelmed by what seemed like a billion offers that came through my new found reputation as the apprentice winner, that I felt like I was drowning.

I was doing a million and one things. Going in a million and one directions. I was flipping sites, working on products, doing affiliate and cpa marketing, writing copy like crazy, handling offline SEO clients, coaching, building sites…

I was making more money faster and easier than I’ve ever made it before, but I got freakin bored and burnt out.

I was to busy with all the commitments that I made, that I didn’t have time to focus, and set a clear distinct direction for my business.

I was like a chicken with it’s head cut off online, ever felt like that?

Well all that’s over now!

I’ve taken the last month off, and have been doing a lot of soul searching. I’ve emerged from my little hiatus a new man, marketer, father, husband.

I’ve decided to rebuild my entire business from scratch, and take you along with me on this journey.

Just last night I hit delete on my entire server. Every file, every everything gone.

I’m starting anew, and this post marks the rebirth of this blog, my life, and my business. Join me as I take you by the hand on this incredible journey.

I intend to use this blog as a way to record all my experiments in Internet Marketing, Business, and life in general.

And I’m going to revealing all the ‘hidden secrets’ that the ‘gurus’ don’t want you to know about… lol

Sarcasm is the new theme I guess, which is prevelent in the last statement. Did you catch it?

Look – bottom line if you’re an Internet Marketer who wants to make more money, or if you’re just someone who likes a good laugh I got some really cool stuff to show you.

I’m blogging now because I want to. Not because ‘it’s what you’re supposed to do’.

So stay tuned, because I’m writing like crazy.

  1. Jason,
I like the tone of your post. You are hitting close to home with your comments, I can’t wait to read your next post and begin this new journey with you.

I just went through a similar exercise, trying to make a decision on which niche I was going to concentrate on, before moving on to the next project.

Bring it on baby! Your audience is ready and waiting.

Hey Donovan! Thanks for dropping by man… Yeah this blog has been a long time coming for me. Some of my post might not make me popular, but it’s going to be the truth. That’s what people are dying to hear, especially in this niche.

Keep coming back, and I’ll promise to knock your socks off every time! :-)

  3. If it was my blog that just returned, this could have easily been my come back post – except for the “being the apprentice” part. ;)

I too am sick of the BS Internet Marketing bloggers giving advice on stuff that don’t know how to do themselves. It bothers me to a point of wanting to kick someone’s ass – and that IS the ex-rocker in me! ;)

Looking forward to your posts man. Hopefully it contains at least a quarter of the funny, sarcastic stuff you’ve blessed me with during our project/Skype conversations.

Hell, I might just throw up the default Headlines theme right now as well and “race you”. Jason Vs. Jason baby! lol ;)

Good to see you back, freak show!

    Happy New Year!
    Cheers
    Jay

Dude it’s on! Jason vs. Jason – The race of the most sarcastic Jay that’s fed up with mediocre madness! Lemme know if you need the theme lol

  5. Good to hear you are back blogging Jason. Looking forward to reading about your journey…

Now I know why you said I should read this. Babe, this is the “You” everyone out there needs to see. This is the most real thing you’ve ever written that I’ve read. EVER. And I’ve read a lot of your stuff :) I am genuinely looking forward to your next post. So where is it?! Day two…

    All my love,
    xoxo
    Mel

Well thank you, thank you, nothing like the encouragement of a hot babe to keep me going! lol

Thanks to you for getting Julia and Julia to get me motivated – lol

  8. Jason,

Thanks for your honest words. I look forward to reading your new blog.

  9. That is what that quarterback at Green Bay did. Said goodbye… then hello, then goodbye.

I don’t know why you say goodbye, I say hello.

    So… hello, hello.

    Tip of they day:
Make them SMink. That means “Smile and Think at the same time”

You have the power within you…
    Use it.

    @michaelhartzell

    PS
Just cause there are other crappy restaurants that serve garbage should not be the reason to keep someone from opening their own.

The fact that there are so many crappy restaurants actually makes it easier to be successful. (as long as they aren’t crappy too)

So.. make them SMink and don’t be crappy!

    :)
