How To Make Products And Sales Really, Really Fast!
If you ever wanted a step-by-step guide to creating your own products fast, then this is your answer.
Having your own product is the easiest way to get a lot of cash, recognition, and influence within your niche, but a lot of people are intimidated by the thought of creating their own product.
After reading this post you will be able to have a unique product, copy wrote, and a strategy to start making sales tomorrow.
The Prelude
For a while I’ve made my living flipping websites. Not just any website, but unique video products. I teamed up with one of the best flippers in the business Suite J, and we were killing it on Flippa (the worlds largest marketplace for websites).
FTC Disclaimer: Because the FTC is cracking down on bloggers giving anything close to an endorsement, I felt that I should be completely honest about my endorsement of Jay Piecha (a.k.a. Suite J)
Mr. FTC, he made me do it! He threatened me within an inch of my life if I didn’t say that he was THE flipping king of the universe. He said if I didn’t tell people that he was the Mac Daddy of flipping then he would send me a video of him singing ‘Every Rose Has A Thorn’!
“Snap Back To Reality” – People couldn’t touch us, because we were able to churn out high quality, unique video products, Clickbank ready sites – faster than anyone else could in the market.
My official title in the gig was ‘Pimp Daddy of Product Development’, and I was fast as grease lightning!
How was I able to create products so fast? I created a system that was easy to duplicate.
I call it the ‘Magical Formula For Info-Product Riches’ – not really, but it was something I created that made it almost mind numbingly simple to create info products fast.
I once created an entire unique video course on ‘Tomato Growing’ (something I know absolutely nothing about) – in under 30 minutes using the formula I’m about to share with you, just to prove that it was really that simple.
And here it is…
The Product Formula
Step 1 - Choose a SPECIFIC subject – instead of doing a product like: “How To Get Traffic With Web 2.0 Properties”, do one on “The Hidden Secret Behind Squidoo Profits”.
The reason why you want to be specific is frankly you can make more products (meaning more sales). You hit a more targeted niche of people looking for that specific information (easier sales). Plus it gives people more specialized training preventing information overload (happier sales).
For this post I’ll pretend I’m creating a specific ‘tomato growing’ product. Then I can use the same formula and create ‘cucumber growing’, ‘green bean growing’, and so forth.
Step 2 – Choose ONE benefit (the result that sells the product) – What’s the end result/angle of my tomato growing product? What does the ONE thing the person buying it want to experience?
This will turn into the meat of your headline.Where a lot of people go wrong is that they try to get to big/broad with their copy. Keep your copy super simple, and specific, and you’ll increase conversions.
Instead of focusing on a billion different things you COULD do with your product, decide on ONE thing that is going to be your pitch.
ex. “How To Grow Softball Size Tomatoes”, or “How To Turn Your Twitter Following Into Cash”
Step 3 - Write down 5 tips/secrets/strategies/techniques, but position them as a problem – What do I mean? Let’s say, hypothetically speaking, that to ensure proper growth of a tomato plant you need a 4in radius separating your plants.
I wouldn’t just tell people plant your tomato plants 4inch. apart. Why? Because that’s one friggin sentence lol
We’re trying to make that one point into an entire video. Plus, by positioning your product as a solution to a problem (even if it’s a problem you created in their mind) you’ll be a lot happier with the sales and conversions.
So when I write down my tips, tricks, or strategies I would write them down like this -
- How Not To Suffocate Your Tomato Plants (that’s the title of video 1)
- Which Fertilizer To Use To Keep From Poisoning Yourself (instead of just saying, you should really use this fertilizer cause it’s nifty)
So how does this translate to other niches?
Instead of saying something like – “You really should use a custom background on Twitter to establish your unique brand, and set yourself apart.” (That’s a statement, create a problem in your prospect mind)
You would say something like – “The Quickest Way To Kill Your Reputation, Brand, and Ensure You Never Make A Dime On Twitter.”
Are you beginning to get the drift? The other reason why this is important, is that you are basically writing the bullet points for your copy, while you are creating your product.
I don’t mean to jump the gun, in what’s already a pretty lengthy post, but here’s and example using the tomato product above…
Inside you’ll learn:
- Which Fertilizer To Use To Keep From Poisoning Yourself, and which fertilizer is proven to reap in the largest, juiciest tomatoes every time!
Getting the idea?
So when you write your bullet points, you just paste in the video titles, and a comma, and then give a promise of a benefit.
Step 4 - Answer These 3 Questions – Now it’s time to make the videos, and this is how you do it…
Open up powerpoint, or any other slide show creator, and create five slides – Now copy, and paste in the five ‘problems’ you created above, and then create three bullet points underneath each title.
In those bullet points, write down these three questions:
- Why is it a problem -
- What’s the solution, or the right way of doing it -
- Are there any tools to make it easier (this is a great place to pitch an affiliate product if one is applicable)
So in the example above, I would have a slide that looked like this…

- Planting Your Tomato Plants To Close Together Drastically Effects The Plants Ability To Root Properly Stopping The Plants Ability To Get The Proper Nutrients… (again just answering the questions above)
- Make sure to give your tomato plants at least a 4inch. radius to ensure proper rooting…
- You can use any standard household ruler to be certain you got the proper distance (or maybe an affiliate product to some gardening tool that would do the same thing.
All you need to do know is use a screen capture program like Jing, or Camtasia to record yourself reading your slides, and BAM! You just made a very fast, and effective video course.
Just repeat the steps above for each of your ‘5 whatevers’.
The Copy Formula
The next step to getting a product together that you can make money from fast, is getting the copy wrote. You can use this copy formula below.
Start with this headline template:
“Discover (x-amount) (of whatever) (will give you the benefit you already came up with) Fast”
Examples:
“Discover 5 Tips To Growing Softball Size Tomatoes Fast!”
“Discover 5 Secrets To Turning Your Twitter Following Into Cash Fast!”
Now the opener:
If you want to (benefit you already came up with – ‘grow the biggest tomatoes you’ve ever seen’) fast, then this is the most important letter you’ll read all year.
When I first started (trying to do what you are selling – ‘ trying to plant tomatoes’ ), I got so frustrated that I kept failing.
No matter what I did, I just couldn’t seem to (benefit you are promising – ‘grow a single tomato plant, nonetheless a softball size tomato’)
I kept trying, testing, failing, testing more, and failing more, until one day it happened!
(Benefit happened! – ‘I grew the biggest, juiciest tomato I’ve ever seen!’)
What? Could this be… an accident?
But it wasn’t an accident, (every whatever it is you are trying to do kept happening – ‘every tomato I’ve ever grew’, or ‘every product I’ve ever launched since’), has (benefit you are promising).
Out of all the testing, tears, frustrations, and now success, I now got this down to a science. I can (benefit you are promising) at will, but the best part is…

“Introduce Product Name Here With A Subheadline”
Today you can grab “product name” consisting of (x-amount) of videos, that reveals the exact formula that I use to (benefit promising).

Is this a perfect copy formula? Probably not, but it converts.
Here’s a secret: There’s no such thing as a “Perfect Copy Formula” – You just need to launch the thing, get it live, and start testing it.
Everything else is just a guess at what will convert. The only way you’ll get perfect copy, is test it, and then test it, and then test it some more.
The Traffic Formula
The final step in getting your new product live, and sales coming in…
Is to get some dang traffic to it!
Start hitting up the niche’s forums, launch some PPC, and even CPV campaigns, and always, ALWAYS do an SEO Bully Campaign. It’s the absolute best free traffic strategy that there is!

Hey LilMikey – if I was pricing it as a product to sell in this niche, I would start at $27. This is so I can potentially offer a discounted price for people within the different forums.
Pricing always is a direct reflection of the value you created. The more value, the more you can charge.
$27 for a 5 video product and bonuses isn’t bad, and it’s where I would start.
You can create a simple checklist that makes it almost impossible to fail at growing your softball size tomato the very first time you plant (or whatever your product does) – and that will add value. How do you do that, just create a .pdf that says… Did you do step 1 – Y or N, what did you learn from doing step one that you can potentially improve to do it faster? Did you do step 2?… ect…
Make it a fill in the blanks type of worksheet. Maybe rip the mp3’s off the video and offer the IPod Audio companion course, to listen to everywhere you go. Now you could charge $47 for it. But if you were just leaving it alone I would start at $27, and then test the pricing.
If you’re in the IM niche, then you could charge even more for the 5 video course, but you have to sell the idea that their $47 investment for this extraordinary 5 video course could yield them x-amount of dollars in x-amount of time. Get it?
BUT if you were building it to just flip, slap a $27 price tag on it an be done. Let the buyer of the site determine what he wants to do with it.
You don’t have to put it in ClickBank before a flip, but I would advertise it as ClickBank Ready (as long as it is, and meets the guidelines of clickbank)
This will help reduce the cost of the flip, and my thinking is that if it’s already in clickbank with no sales to it it makes it look worse to the buyer, that’s just my opinion though.
Maybe if Suite J is reading this he can lend a helping hand??? lol
We were flipping our sites as soon as we had them done, no traffic or sales claimed. For the 5 video product we would charge $997, and for 10 videos $1297. The key to flipping though is that you want to attract buyers, and that means make sure to have kick butt graphics.
Def come back and leave a link to your new product you created using this post, so people can use it as a case study. Who knows, could drive some sales to it, and increase the flipping price.
